Green Lantern Colors

Just finished up Colors on the Green Lantern post I did a while ago. It's done in time for the Cherry Capital Con (www.cherrycapitalcon.com) which I'll be tabling at this weekend.

I've been having a lot of fun developing my coloring style and relieved as to how easy it's starting to come to me. Enjoy and let me know what you think...

Wolverine Colors are done!

As promised here's the color version of the Wolverine Pin-up. I would of had this piece done and posted last night but was feeling a little under the weather. Here it is now though... Hope you enjoy (as always click on the image to open a larger version in a new window)...

I'm working on finishing some more posters before this weekend. the posters as well as this wolverine will be available for Cherry Capital Con.

I'm still toying with color everyday, any comment or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Working on Wolverine Colors

Just wanted to put up a quick post...

I'm getting things together and finishing up some color pin-up work. I'll be attending the Cherry Capital Con in Traverse City, MI this weekend and want to have some new posters to push.

I'm going to be posting my new posters here as I complete them. First the line art will be posted then the colors.

I'll be doing these until after the con. Then I've got to punch out some work and get a webcomic page setup over at webcomicsnation.com for Rick Schlaack's "The Empty Corner" I'm doing "grays" over his line art and setting up the webcomic page as well. We'll be posting new pages twice a week until the story is done. Then the story will be collected in a graphic novel.

Here's the line art for a Wolverine piece I've been meaning to finish for quite some time. This is all part of my "backlog" of work I want to get clear so there's no distractions with future production.

Be back soon...

Old Color Work

Thought I'd drop a little line for everyone...

Here's some old color work I did from late last year... It's when I first started playing around with a "modern" Comic coloring style...

I've been working on some projects that I can't post here, I'm itching to show this work though and am currently waiting on permission to post the images... hopefully it comes soon.

Samurai Colors

Just finished a quick color job using some of the new techniques and theories... I stayed more realistic than design oriented with the color.

Let me know what you think

SAMURAI CONCEPT

Here's a quick little piece I did at this weeks LADD meeting.

I'm setting the piece up for colors right now and will post them soon. Earlier today I had the opportunity to sit down with Jason Howard and get a little hands on tutoring with how he creates and approaches his colors. My mind was spinning with information that I had to get down on paper. I feel very focused and finally have direction to define my coloring style.

A lot of the previous post will be getting color soon, I have some jobs to get out of the way first. But they will be coming soon... I feel half on the verge of insanity with so much in my head begging to come out.

So without any further ramblings (so I can get back to work) here's the piece from LADD.

24 HOUR COMIC OFF TO PRESS

Well I finally broke down and put my 24 hour comic in print. I will have issues back in time to go to the Cherry Capital Con in Traverse city later this month.

To find out more about my 24 hour comic experience click here or flow this link http://j2comics.blogspot.com/2008/11/first-post.html.

Here's the new cover I created for the publication. I wanted a simple yet strong design. I originally had the dark blue dropped out and replace with white to create a strong negative presence. However it wasn't rich enough in color, and really just appeared to be flat. Below you'll see the final for print.

As soon as I have this up on Indy Planet I'll let everyone know.

Bonus Material: Here's jam pages the LADDies did for each of the sponsors...

Decker's Coffee

Downtown Subs

Cottage Inn Pizza

Brannigan Brothers

Grand Art Supply

Issue 4 of Comics Obscura is out as well and as soon as I have that up on Indy Planet I'll get a post up about it, so stay tuned.

I'll be back with more posts soon, I'm trying to get permission to show some of the new pieces I've been working on for a client.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the stuff let me know what you think.
